Welcome to SimpleMDG User Guide, designed to help you navigate and utilize the features of SimpleMDG for efficient master data governance on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). This guide provide step-by-step instructions, tips and insight to maximize the benefits of SimpleMDG. Whether you are new user or seeking a refresher, this document will assist you in understanding the key functionalities and workflows.


What is SimpleMDG

SimpleMDG is the solution for Master Data Governance on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) with standard models and workflow that support governance while eliminating the need for complex and cumbersome customizations.


Moreover, SimpleMDG provides enterprises with the functionalities to implement business rules, standards, and validations to govern the process of master data maintenance and delivering data quality.

Signing into SimpleMDG for the first time

When first accessing the site, the first thing you will need to do is login. You will be given a URL that you may store to your taskbar or favorites for quick access from your web browser. The URL will bring you to the login screen.



 

From here, you can fill in your E-mail or username, and the password that has been provided based on your business role. Hit Enter and SimpleMDG is now in your hands, you can perform various action within your authority. And remember, after you've been verified, you will need to set a new password for the next time you log in.


Master Data and My Tasks Tab

Here is the Master Data and My Tasks tab and you can find it in the header. It is used to search for created requests of specific object types by using the on-premises number.


 

Furthermore, as a Requestor, your job would be to create Change Requests (CR). Hence, you can view all of them in the My Tasks tab. That's why you also need its location, which is next to Master Data tab.


 

You will see four little icons on the top right on the header.


 

The icon allows you to view the reminders; the icon indicates notifications for new activities, the avatar icon enables you to view your account information; the yellow icon shows target system, storage type, ticket type and address validation.


If you have multiple roles, you can choose the Object Type you want to view and the period of the activities. After choosing what you want to view, click on theIcon Description automatically generatedicon to refresh the charts.
